If patriotism and love of country are the kindergarten of love, a shadow of other loves and the Greater Love, then I suppose one could view Independence Day in the same light. The breaking away from former ties to forge a nation that honors the Father was a reflection, in some respects, of the breaking of chains that Christ accomplished, setting us free to be Good and do Good Deeds within a loving and righteous community.
In honor of that thought, I would like to wish Michael Glatze a very happy Independence Day.
