What is Coming, What We’re Wishing For

May 7, 2009 by Brandy Vencel

Recently, I have hit the jackpot on PBS. I have had wishlist matches granted and random books I looked up immediately available to the point that, as of right now, I have only one credit left. To my delight, I introduce you to the soon-to-be new members of our family library:

Robert McCloskey’s Make Way for Ducklings

    Simon James’ The Birdwatchers

    Sterling North’s Rascal

    R.M. Ballantyne’s The Coral Island

Susan Wojciechowski’s The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey
to be saved for DecemberTerm 2009

James Howard Kunstler’s Home from Nowhere
    for Mommy

What are you adding to your library?

Wendi, I never thought to look for readers…I don’t know why, it just didn’t cross my mind. I will have to do that!

Rahime, Don’t you love it when this happens? It’s like Christmas…

Kimbrah, We love Brother Andrew around here, but we’ve never read Light Force. You will have to let me know what you think. I’m not familiar with the other books you mentioned so I’ll have to google them. 🙂

I have “The Quiltmaker’s Gift” on its way. We also just got “Light Force” by Brother Andrew in the mail. I had to pass up a few books due to lack of credits, but luckily, a bunch of my books were just requested, so I should be able to add them back in soon. I was really bummed about missing out on “June 29, 1999” especially because of our big garden this year. Next time! 🙂

I actually recently had the same thing happen…I had a nice fat supply of PBS credits and then all of the sudden a bunch of matches came in and I got down to my last credit.

Make Way for Ducklings and the Story of Ping were my favorites as a little girl. Just seeing their cover pictures brings back fond memories.

I LOVE PBSwap! The wishlist feature is definitely the best. In the past month I have received a number of books from my wishlist ~ my fave being “Feminine Appeal”. I’ve also gotten Pathway Readers, Rod & Staff reading books and CLP history readers.
