Ihave a three-year-old who really, really wants to have a habit of defiance. It isn’t allowed, you know, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t give it all her effort. Today, since Daddy is home (and in honor of Father’s Day), he had a talk with her. When they didn’t reappear in a reasonable period of time, I made my way to the girls’ room to see what was the matter.
Turns out they were having a Daddy/daughter cuddle party.
I, however, was still owed an apology.
So, naturally, I offered them one of my looks. When they inquired, I explained that I was still waiting for my apology from the Defiant Child.
Q.: I sowwy, Mommy, for disobeying.
Daddy: Q., who are you supposed to obey?
Q.: You and Mommy.
Daddy: And who are you not supposed to obey?
Q.: [says own name…then, looks at me] Mommy, I sowwy for obeying myself.
