    Temptation

December 17, 2010 by Brandy Vencel

Remember how I said I was only reading fiction literature during Advent? Well. Um. Ahem. I seem to have sumbled a bit. And it was my own fault! I preordered a certain book a couple months ago, without knowing that I’d have sworn off nonfiction for the season. Said book was delivered yesterday upon my doorstep.

Naturally, I read the introduction aloud to my husband, who tolerates things like that.

It’s like a drug. It calls to me, and it is all I can do to avoid it.

    Even now, it beckons.

Did any of you get yours in the mail as well?

And, more importantly, have you talked Cindy into hosting a book club?

I got one, read the first chapter (about 5 times) and promptly ordered 3 more for gifts.

I have that book on my TBR list…though it’s a little late for me to be learning about this topic. 😉
I’d like to listen in on the book club if it happens.

    I’ve got my copy!

I meant to say on the post where you blamed me for coming up with your literature resolution: Isn’t it funny what different meanings people can pull away from one’s words? 🙂 I meant that I don’t listen to lectures and audio books much during Christmas simply because I *do* listen to Christmas music a lot. If there’s only one month in which to get one’s fill of it, one must feast while one can! 🙂 I am of Cindy’s persuasion when it comes to Christmas music, though my collection is still smallish.

I’d love a book club, wherever hosted. I’m not sure I’m up to hosting it myself, though.
