So I’m not really progressing on Couch to 5K right now. I’m still doing it, but I’ve been stuck at week four. I don’t mean I’m repeating it over and over, but rather than I am not quite able to do it. Does that mean I’m stuck between weeks three and four? Maybe it does!
After a 5 minute brisk warm-up walk, I’m supposed to:
- Run 3 minutes
- Walk 90 seconds
- Run 5 minutes
- Walk 2.5 minutes
- Run 3 minutes
- Walk 90 seconds
- Run 5 minutes
I think I solved my coffee substitute dilemma. I mean, of course I am still trying to figure out how I can get away with drinking coffee. A friend of mine told me to try different brands and organic to see if it is something about the coffee I have been drinking, rather than coffee itself, that is giving me trouble.
I thought I would end up choosing an herbal substitute, but that was before a friend gave me a sample of brewing chocolate.
Oh my heavens. YUM.
What I like about it is that it perfectly fits my coffee routine. It brews up just like coffee. I use the same measuring spoon in the same amounts to brew myself a cup in my french press. I add the same amount of honey and the same amount of cream. And the final product has the right texture. Tea is thinner than coffee; have you ever noticed that?
It’s still not coffee, but I think it’s as close as I’m going to get.
I’m in need of an Aquinas tutor, ASAP. Any of you read Summa Theologica and want to give me a hand?
I’m not joking! I spent last night trying to read it {well, parts of it} on my own, and I think I need help.
If you’re willing, let me know.
These guys are officially for sale! They have such great personalities that I hope to sell them for weed control rather than food. It seems a shame to waste friendliness and good behavior around children on a feast! My only sadness is that their eyes ended up changing from blue to golden.
If you are local{ish} and interested, let me know. They are $75 each.
What is weird to me is how quickly this particular doe’s babies always mature. They even have to be castrated early. They are once again ready to go weeks earlier than the offspring from our other doe {and, yes, I’m adjusting for the difference in birth dates}.
Also, you might notice that the triplet sister, Pepper, is not in this collage. I haven’t decided yet if I’m keeping her, but she’s the runt, so a few more weeks on mother’s milk, sans competition, will be good for her, regardless of what I end up deciding.
The high today is 97 degrees.
Wah.
And that’s all I’ll say about that, because, really, what else can one say?
Monday is our 13th anniversary. I’m telling you now, because I probably won’t blog on Monday. Baker’s dozen! I really want to take donuts to his office in honor of the day.
Is that weird?
The real news is on the guest house front! We are so close, I can taste it. Or maybe what I taste is just all the construction dust that is clogging my airways after all the hours the children and I spent cleaning that place to prep it for floors and final inspection. {If I die of lung cancer, you know where to point the finger!} Either way, it’s looking fabulous. I believe the inspection is Monday. Today is important because of things like Toilet Installations. I never knew that was such a Big Deal.
Isn’t it purdy?
I wrote a long paragraph about this kitchen and why it looks like this, but Blogger lost it all, and now I’m not motivated. Maybe someday in the future I’ll share with you the silly rules our City has made.
