Seven Quick Takes: Where Did I Go? Edition

May 9, 2014 by Brandy Vencel

    Monday was our thirteenth anniversary, but we celebrated on Saturday. My parents took the children for Friday and Saturday night so that we could make a big daytrip on Saturday. We left at 6:00 AM and returned at 9:00 PM. I had actually kept two baby goats longer than I normally would, just so that I wouldn’t have to milk a goat before I left. {I let the babies do it for me.}

And yes, I did sell those babies right after we returned!

    But I digress.

Each “take” is a clue. Can you guess where we went?

    — 1 —
Lazy. Wherever and whenever I see these creatures, they are nothing but lazy.

    — 2 —

Dolphins. Okay, so they aren’t actually in the photo. But they were playing in the wake of our boat. It was pretty much awesome.

    — 3 —

Approaching our destination. This is the place you’re supposed to be guessing. FYI.

    — 4 —

Kelp forest! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in real life before. It was amazing!

    — 5 —

The trail we took. One of them, anyhow. We hiked for four hours, total. We saw a lot of trails.

    — 6 —

Our view during lunch. We had to hike about 90 minutes or so, but it was worth it to eat with this view. There were picnic tables elsewhere, lower down, but we resorted to a flat rock on the cliff side.

If you are familiar with California, this should be a BIG clue. But that isn’t why it’s the last photo. I was posting them in chronological order, and this was taken on our way down, back to the pier to meet our boat.

Anybody figure it out? I’ll add a final photo when you do…or eventually if you don’t!

    Bonus Photo:

And that is all for this Friday. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
