[dropcap]I[/dropcap] think most of you are familiar with Newbie Tuesday, my monthly newsletter for Charlotte Mason beginners. But just in case, I’ll tell you a bit about it. Each month, I put together a newsletter that introduces a topic — some part of Charlotte Mason’s philosophy. There’s a letter from me {the editor, of course}, an article introducing the philosophical underpinnings, another article on the practical applications, and then yet another article — by either Tammy Glaser or Kathy Wickward, depending on the month — on transitioning older students to the concept or practice. It’s also packed with a bunch of resources for further reading around the web, in books, as well as practical tools for implementation.
I’m quite proud of it, to be honest.
For many long months and many long hours {don’t worry, I pay her!}, Hayley has been compiling all of the 2015 issues into one complete volume. She’s done an amazing job! It’s a PDF, so it should be easy to read on your device, or to print, if that’s your style.
Topics Include:
- Narration
- Habit Training
- Living Books
- Paying Attention
- The Way of the Will
- The Way of the Reason
- Education as an Atmosphere
- Picture Study
- Variety and Alternation
- Citizenship in a Charlotte Mason Education
- Memory Work in a Charlotte Mason Education
Also, at the end is the topical lineup for the 2016 newsletter, if you’re curious what to expect in the coming year.

Thank you so much for your Pay What You Want (Can)! I am learning so much from you. You and your Schole Sisters have really been helping me navigate through a difficult period of life. Thanks!
Oh, Erika! I’m so happy we’ve been of any help at all! ♥
Thank you so much for making this available! I appreciate the opportunity to “pay what you want” too.
You’re welcome, Nelleke. Enjoy! ♥
What a gift! Thank you! Looking forward to taking my time and reading through this!
You’re welcome, Amanda. Enjoy the feast. 🙂
I’m not a beginner, nor advanced since my oldest is Y4. But I do read through your newsletter each month. =)
The info *is* for beginners. But I also think these are for family or friends that are genuinely interested in WHY/HOW we homeschool differently than what many people are used to. They are just short enough, but also just detailed enough that a family member or friend who is concerned or just curious will actually read them. I do not share every article, because some would not apply. But I have shared a handful. They’re great to share with a concerned grandparent or a curious friend. So thanks, Brandy!
And this is why I always think in retrospect, “Virginia Lee really should be writing this announcement for me.” 😉
So excited for this- thank you, thank you!
You’re welcome! I’m excited that you’re excited. 🙂
