:: 1 :: We had a couple new additions to the microhomestead this past week. This summer, both girls lost their rabbits. Daughter A.’s was injured by our dog when she escaped from her cage. She lived quite a while afterward, but never really recovered. Daughter Q.’s rabbit, on the other hand, being on the older side, just didn’t handle the heat very well, unlike the previous summers. Seven Quick Takes on Creature Collections, Email Switches, Read Alouds, and MORE!

:: 1 :: Daughter A’s creature collection has been in flux. Her rabbit, Emerald, escaped her cage while we were at the AO Conference and, unfortunately, had an encounter with the dog. We tried valiantly to save her, but she passed away overnight on Wednesday. So Daughter A is down one creature. But she’s also up. The Awesomeness of Having Pets

[dropcap]B[/dropcap]oys can be terribly difficult creatures when they are six. I thought there was something wrong with my oldest child when he was six. A more experienced mother was kind enough to inform me that his troubles were only that which are common to boys, and we’d get through it.
